The starting point

DSEU teaches the next generation of entrepreneurs by bringing Eastern and Western business traditions together. The university wanted a redesigned website that felt as global and ambitious as its programs. To open the conversation, I developed two distinct visual directions so the stakeholders could react to real options.

Direction one

Diamond

Modern and luminous. Iridescent light, glass architecture, and deep night blues express ambition and a global, forward-looking outlook. Translucent glass panels and clean sans-serif type keep it sleek.

Palette
Inspiration
Diamond inspiration: iridescent rainbow light blurs paired with glass skyscrapers, a neon-lit arcade, and a speaker on a blue-lit stage.
Motifs
Diamond motifs: a glass-paneled hero over skyscrapers, frosted faculty cards, program cards, a quote over a blue-lit stage, and a vivid gradient call to action.
Homepage option 1
Diamond homepage: a dark indigo page with a photo hero, glowing blue program cards, a mission statement, a founder quote, news, and statistics.
Direction two

Silk

Rooted in heritage. Classical silk paintings and textiles meet modern skylines to express a bridge between East and West. Warm cream grounds, elegant serif type, and a flowing red line give it a refined, editorial feel.

Palette
Inspiration
Silk inspiration: city skylines and glass towers paired with classical Chinese silk textiles, bird-and-flower paintings, and a confident professional.
Motifs
Silk motifs: a blue-toned skyline with the torch logo, a flowing red line framing a quote, cards over a classical landscape painting, arched faculty portraits, and pill-shaped gradient buttons.
Homepage option 2
Silk homepage: a cream page with a torch hero reading Torch of Wisdom, Light for the World, program cards over skyline and painting backgrounds, a red line framing a quote, arched faculty portraits, and statistics over a classical landscape.

Landing on a blend

The stakeholders leaned toward Diamond but saw things they loved in Silk, so the final design builds on Diamond's deep blues and glowing glass cards and brings in Silk's elegant serif headings, flowing red line, and warm red accents.

Final blended DSEU homepage: Diamond's deep navy ground and frosted blue program cards, with Silk's serif headings, flowing red line, and red buttons, over campus photography.
